Rap star Gunna has moved well beyond music, joining Under Armour as a global ambassador and P-Star creative director — a partnership that places him inside the creative operation while giving him an international role linked to fitness, wellness, and community.

The Atlanta rapper, known for his melodic flow and distinctive fashion sense, has been named creative director of P-Star, a new multidimensional creative platform spanning apparel, footwear, community initiatives, and cultural storytelling. The move represents a significant expansion of Gunna’s relationship with the sportswear giant, following his appearances in Under Armour’s “We Are Football” campaign and the “Bouncy Tee” campaign alongside country star Parker McCollum.

From Music to Movement: Gunna’s Fitness Journey

The partnership didn’t happen overnight. Over the past two years, Gunna has trained nearly every day and built the Wunna Run run club, which now brings thousands of people together in cities around the world. Under Armour noticed and became an official sponsor of his Wunna Run 5K series.

Gunna works out five to six days a week with trainer Dustin Enriquez, alternating between strength training, cardio intervals, and boxing sessions. His commitment to fitness has become as much a part of his brand as his music, and Under Armour founder and CEO Kevin Plank took notice.

“Gunna’s story is one of resilience, discipline and growth. His commitment to discipline, creativity, wellness and community extends far beyond music. He’s challenged himself to become his best version and, in the process, has inspired thousands to do the same.”
Kevin Plank, Founder and CEO of Under Armour

P-Star: A New Creative Platform

P-Star is described as a “multidimensional creative platform” conceived under Gunna’s creative direction. The name builds on Gunna’s existing lifestyle apparel brand, P by Gunna, which launched in 2024. Its logo — the letter “P” with a star in the middle — is intended to represent high standards and discipline.

The first collection, debuting August 27, features a 14-piece lineup including:

  • Heavyweight tees
  • Shorts and sweats
  • American football-inspired HeatGear styles
  • Each piece finished with the signature embellished P-Star logo

Headlining the launch is the UA Scorpio, a brand-new sportswear silhouette and Gunna’s first-ever official footwear collaboration with Under Armour. The sneaker features six spike-like pieces extending from the midsole, which uses UA HOVR cushioning, with thin synthetic overlays giving the upper a lightweight runner-inspired look.

What’s Next: Wunna Run Capsule and P-Star Lux

Today’s announcement is only the first chapter of the P-Star platform. Under Armour has already mapped out the next phases:

Early 2027: A dedicated “Wunna Run” capsule collection, named after the run club Gunna founded in 2024. The collection will extend the exclusive experience to the public for the first time.

Summer 2027: The launch of “P-Star Lux” — “an elevated expression of Gunna’s creative vision”.

Gunna described the partnership as a natural extension of his life:

“P-Star is really an extension of how I live — always evolving, staying disciplined and pushing myself in every area of my life. Under Armour understands that vision and has given me the space to build something that brings together style, performance and community.”

Why It Matters to Urban Communities

The Gunna-Under Armour partnership highlights the growing intersection of hip-hop and wellness. Artists are increasingly using their platforms to promote physical and mental well-being — and major brands are taking notice.

The broader trend:

  • Hip-hop artists are becoming fitness ambassadors, run club organizers, and wellness advocates
  • Brands are recognizing the cultural influence of hip-hop in spaces traditionally dominated by athletes
  • Urban communities are seeing more accessible fitness initiatives driven by cultural leaders

Gunna’s Wunna Run club and Wunna Warriors — his grassroots 7-on-7 high school football program — are examples of how artists are building community around movement and mental strength. Under Armour has supported these initiatives, helping Gunna inspire the next generation to “push the pace”.

The Bottom Line

Gunna’s partnership with Under Armour is more than a celebrity endorsement — it’s a blueprint for how artists can build sustainable empires beyond music. By aligning his fitness journey, run clubs, and creative vision with a major sportswear brand, Gunna is showing that hip-hop and health are not mutually exclusive.

For urban communities, the message is clear: fitness is accessible, discipline is power, and the culture is evolving.
