Enny (United Kingdom) — British-Nigerian rapper representing the diaspora

Produced by Sarz, one of Africa’s most influential music producers, the 2026 edition stays true to hip-hop’s foundations while embracing the sounds and perspectives shaping the genre’s future.

South Africa’s Flag Bearer:

Yanga Chief becomes the third South African rapper to feature in the prestigious cypher, following acclaimed lyricists Maglera Doe Boy and A-Reece.

Dallas is getting a heavy dose of Texas hip-hop this weekend as Ice Cube’s BIG3 brings its 2026 playoff action to the American Airlines Center on Saturday, August 15.

The Halftime Showcase:

Texas artists Tay Money, Dorrough, Mike Jones and JhonnieDamnD are set to hit the stage for a special halftime showcase presented by Hitmaker Music Group.

Mike Jones — whose name and sound are permanently stamped into Houston hip-hop history
Dorrough — Dallas’ own, whose records became anthems far beyond the city
Tay Money — represents another side of the Dallas movement
JhonnieDamnD — represents the continued evolution of the region’s independent talent

The BIG3 Playoffs:

The league begins its postseason on Friday, August 15, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The Dallas Power, the Chicago Triplets, Boston Ball Hogs and Miami 305 have all clinched a playoff berth. A celebrity game is also scheduled for the weekend.

Ice Cube, whose legal name is O’Shea Jackson Sr., serves as co-founder and CEO of the BIG3. The league has served as another option for players looking to continue their careers in a new format.

“The difference between Year 1 and now in Year 9 is the respect that our athletes get,” Ice Cube said. “A lot of people disrespected the BIG3 athletes because they thought they were retired. Maybe from the NBA, but not from basketball” .
